Rabu, 29 Agustus 2012

The Hacker group , Team GhostShell which is affiliated with hacktivists Anonymous, leaked a cache of more than one million user account records from 100 websites over the weekend.

Hackers posted an online announcement claiming possession of sensitive data belonging to a list of organizations including the CIA, MIT, and Wall Street businesses, as reported by TechEYE.net.

Some of the pinched data includes credit histories from banks among other files, many of which were lifted from content management systems. Some of the breached databases each contained more than 30,000 records.

The hackers said the online leaks, which are part of its operation called Project Hellfire, were made in protest against banks and in revenge for the rounding up of hacktivists by cops and government agents.

"With the help of it's sub-divisions, MidasBank & the newest branch, OphiusLab. One million accounts/records leaked." Hackers said in the press release.

"We are also letting everyone know that more releases, collaborations with Anonymous and other, plus two more projects are still scheduled for this fall and winter. It's only the beginning. "
